ABOUT THE SHOES

In 2005 Corinne Smit held her solo exhibition at the AVA, the Association for Visual Arts in Cape Town, South Africa, featuring her sculptural shoes. Since then, she has always wanted to design her own physical shoes. In January 2022 she decided to pursue this dream and make it a reality finally.

The label, Step into your promised land, is a declaration to claim our individual “promised land”. She believes that God has uniquely created all individuals with a specific purpose. “I have designed these shoes with the prophetic purpose for the individuals wearing these shoes to step into their God-ordained destinies”.

The different ranges include the Infinity range which features the Nguni and Eagle artworks. The design of this shoe range caters to all seasons. The Destiny range features the Sunflower and Running the race paintings and is a comfortable summer shoe but could also be worn with stockings in winter. The Miracles range features the open-toe summer shoe with the multi-coloured feather painting.

ABOUT THE EAGLE IMAGE

When I felt lead to paint this image of the eagle during worship at church, I felt that the prophetic meaning highlights that as the eagle is looking up, we need to abide in Him and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.

The eagle represents strength and wisdom.

Isaiah 40:31 says: “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint”. (NIV)

The eagle soars above the storms and has amazing vision. When prey birds come to attack the eagle, all the eagle does it to soar higher and higher and the altitude causes these birds to fall down because of lack of oxygen. The higher the flight of the eagle, the more the ravens struggle to breathe because they cannot function in that atmosphere.

I feel that the rainbow-coloured eagle represents that we should keep our eyes fixed on God’s promises amidst the storms and challenges that we face.

The eagle rises above its challenges and thrives in a storm. It knows when a storm is approaching and waits for the wind to come and lift it up above the storm.

They use the pressure of the storm to glide higher without using their own efforts, their wings lock in a fixed position to soar without it costing them energy.

We do not need to respond to all battles. Like the eagle we can respond to soar above the challenges of life.

As we keep our perspective on God and His Word we are more than conquerors and we overcome, because our strength is not in our own efforts, but in Him.

The rainbow colours also represent His joy. We should count it all joy when we face various trials and tribulations (James 1:2-5; NIV). It is a set-up for His glory.

As we worship Him, we experience fullness of joy, because our joy is not established in our circumstances or emotions, but in knowing who we are, because of whose we are.

Abide in His love and may your strength be renewed like the eagles’

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CARE & MAINTENANCE:

Please do not use any leather treatments or waxes since we cannot guarantee that it will not affect the print. The print is weather resistant, but if cleaning is required, please use a soft damp sponge, and gently remove any dirt and carefully dry with a soft cloth. General wear will affect the leather and form natural creases which add to the character of the shoes. For additional care, you may spray it with approved weather-resistant and waterproof spray tested for leather-printed products.

SHIPMENT

These bespoke hand-made beauties are manufactured according to minimum order quantities, and it can take any time from 6 – 10 weeks before shipment takes place.

PHYSICAL ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED

This listing is for physical shoes to be shipped after manufacture. Estimated shipment duration varies per country. Items are directly shipped from South Africa.
