THE FISH EAGLE

When I painted The Fish Eagle, I painted it with fire in its wings. This is not a fire that is burning the eagle, but it’s a holy all-consuming fire that is carried by this eagle as it is about to catch a fish from the ocean.

This fire represents a purging and an urgency. It is a purifying fire that has given this eagle strength and authority. It represents the ones who have been submitting under God’s purging fires and have learned what it means to become a living sacrifice and move by the power of His Holy Spirit.

Those who have submitted to His fire will arise above any circumstance they might face. They will soar above the challenges of life. This baptism of fire has prepared His purged ones to soar to new heights.

They will know and see where and how to catch the fish. They will arise and fly

One of the Scriptures that came to mind is: “And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men’” (Psalm 84:10, ESV).

In this sense, the ocean also represents the nations and the fish eagle being in the “catching the fish mode” symbolises the time of bringing in the harvest and reaching the nations with a fiery boldness.

The great commission calls us to disciple nations.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matt 28:19-20, NIV)

The purging of the fire has prepared God’s people to bring in the harvest. The harvest comes through surrendered lives, those who have learned to submit and be obedient to the call of The Holy Spirit.

This represents those who have learned that the baptism of fire has purged them into knowing that God is right there with them in the middle of it and it will not harm them just as He was in the midst of the fire with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. (Daniel 3)

“Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God” (Daniel 3:28, NIV).

This is for the burning ones who will stand in the midst of the fire, trials, and tribulations to take a stand for God. They have eagle vision and eagle strength where they will use the adversity to soar above it with renewed strength and power, determined to reach their God-given targets and visions.

These are the ones that God can trust and will use to accomplish His purposes and glorify His name.
