O LORD, HEAR MY PRAYER

The O Lord, Hear my Prayer print depicts a semi-realistic painting of a lady touching the prayer wall in Jerusalem. She is wearing a blue draped head-scarf in the tradition of the Jewish people. She is praying with her eyes closed.

 

The Backstory

On my second trip to Israel, I visited the prayer wall in the Old City of Jerusalem. There was a group of ladies who were praying including this lady.

Straightaway when I saw her, I knew that I had to capture her for a prophetic painting.

 

The Power of Prayer

Several people have told me how they experience such a beautiful presence when they look at the painting.

Even though God hears our prayers no matter where we are, this image to me symbolizes our need to pray and reach out to God, because prayer removes the wall that separates us from Him.

Prayer brings us into direct relationship through communication and atonement with Him. When we experience obstacles or walls in our lives it often brings us to our knees in prayer.

Prayer should however not be a result only to reach out to God to “rescue” us.  Irrespective of our circumstances the ideal is that prayer flows as a natural continuous response birthed from a position of intimate relationship with God.

When we posture our hearts to ask, seek and find through our persistence in prayer He will give us our petitions in line with His perfect will.

Matt 7:7-8 says: ““Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened” (NIV).

 

In Conclusion

In truth I hope that this image will inspire you to reach out in conversation with your Creator.  He is The lover of your soul. Undeniably He is The One who craves to be in a relationship with you.

He desires for you to reach out to Him and seek Him. Unquestionably the way that we reach out is through prayer. Prayer is a beautiful 2-way conversation between you and God.

He wants to reveal His heart to you and open up the mysteries of His Word. Moreover it is His will to baptize you with His Holy Spirit so that your Spirit man is enlightened. Certainly the baptism of the Holy Spirit opens your eyes to the Truth of The Word.

When you pray, it is a 2-way conversation and you can expect to hear His voice.

I want to encourage you to pray. Ask, seek and knock so that you can receive and grow into the fullness of His promises fulfilled for your life. Prayer is a most-powerful tool to build intimacy with God and tap into all that He has for us.
