ENDURANCE 

The Endurance painting is a near life-like depiction of a stunning galloping horse. The artist captures the motion very well. You can almost feel the breeze as you gaze at the artwork.

 

THE BACKSTORY

Endurance was born from a place of facing a challenging season in my life. I realized that my character must stand the test of time and that I have no other choice but to endure. We all face challenges in life, but it is how we respond that makes the difference in our preferred outcomes.

For me personally to endure means to continue to go forward, to press in, and continue to run the race despite our circumstances or challenges we may face.

Furthermore the symbolism of the running horse stands for strength, power, determination, courage, fierceness, going forward, pressing-in, heading towards your goal. On the whole it stands for endurance and perseverance. Endurance goes hand in hand with hope. Likewise it will motivate us to continue our journey with the positive expectation to receive our break-through’s, and press forward to see our hopes and dreams fulfilled. It is a motivation to believe that our efforts will bear fruit.

The Word tells us that we need to work out our daily salvation. I believe that we need to submit our mind, will and emotions to the truth. This is where our biggest battles lie and where we must persevere. Just as the horse learns to withstand opposition and win the race set before him so also we must endure in our personal battles.

Words of Encouragement

The Word encourages us to endure.  Hebrews 10 says: “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful”. (Heb 10:23, NKJV)

Isaiah 26:3 says: “You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation]” (AMP).

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers” (Gal 6:9-10, NIV)

“Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matt 24:12-14, NIV).

No matter the challenges that we face, we need to endure for our lives are a testimony in the making. One day we will give account for our actions.

 

More Then Conquerors

The Word also tells us that we are more then conquerors through Christ who loves us. This is such an encouragement to endure as we face our challenges head-on.

“”What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:

“For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord”. (Romans 8: 31-39, NIV)

We endure in the battles of life from a position of victory to the point of not only defeating our enemies, but celebrating the spoils thereof.

In Conclusion

May the message of this prophetic painting encourage you as it does me. All we need to do is to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. Undoubtedly Endurance is key to our faith (Heb 10:23).  It is our prerogative to trust God.  We must know Him and therefore know that all things work together for good for the ones who love Him. (Rom 8:28). In truth no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Is 54:17).

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD” ((Is 54:17, NKJV).

May this message encourage you to face your trials and endure through the storms in your life.
