WOLF & LAMB:

This image of the Wolf & Lamb painting depicts God’s covenant promises amidst the storms that we face. It encourages us to keep our eyes fixed on God and walk by faith and not by sight.

 

THE BACK STORY:

The Scripture reference pertaining to the Wolf & Lamb painting is Isaiah 11:6

“The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them.” (NIV)

I painted this painting at my local church during worship only. The sheep’s eyes are closed. Why?

I felt Holy Spirit speaking to me that as long as we fix our eyes on Jesus, our great Shepherd we need not fear evil. Basically the lamb represents us, and the wolf represents the challenges and adversities.

 

His Covenant:

When Noah faced the heavy floods, the image of the rainbow sealed God’s covenant promise.

When we focus on God’s promises amidst the storms of life, we will experience His peace which surpasses all understanding. Ultimately His blood-bought Covenant brings atonement when we surrender our lives into His hands. When we are in close relationship with Him, His covenant promises sustain us. So also He assures us of His faithfulness.

Basically this image reminds me of God’s covenant promises as reflected in the rainbow colours. The wool of the lamb as well as the hair of the wolf reflect soft hues of greens, pinks, blues and yellows.

This painting reminds me of the promise that we will stay in perfect peace even when we face trials and tribulations.

Similarly the promise that a child will lead the wolf and lamb, speaks of safety and divine protection.
